Bridal Accessories

Something old, Something
new, Something borrowed, Something blue, and a six-pence in your shoe!
Accessories are the finishing touches that tie yours and your attendants' attire.
Accessories include what everyone sees and also what's underneath as well.
Undergarment
These can include bras, corsets, hosiery, garter, slip. Be sure to
wear comfortable attire underneath your gown. If you purchase from a lingerie
store, take a photo of your dress so the salesperson can help you pick out the
proper pieces. While you are there, pick out something special for your honeymoon
night.
Jewelry
Jewelry is the most important accesory visible to the eye. Take a photo of your
dress and any samples so the jeweler can help you in selecting the right pieces.
Typically, you want to stick with simpler pieces the more ornate your dress is
(ie heavily beaded), and vice versa. If you want to coordinate the attendant's
jewelry with yours, check into having custom designed jewelry.
Veil
Choose a veil that complements your gown and the way you want to wear your hair.
There are four veil lengths:
- Finger-tip: Just
brushes the shoulder and frames the face
- Elbow-length: Brushes
the elbow
- Chapel-length: Measures
three yards (9 feet) long
- Cathedral-length:
Measures four yards (12 feet) long
Shoes
You will be on your feet for hours on your Wedding Day. The last thing you need
is a pair of uncomfortable shoes during the festive hours. Some brides bring along
a pair of ballet slippers for the reception.
Other Accessories
Other accessories for you and your wedding party may include goves, bracelets,
and hairpieces.
