How To Choose the Right Florist
By Patricia Lee

Flowers often act as the finishing touch to compliment a perfect wedding. If you decide to have the aid of a florist, you need to make wise decisions on whom you choose and how much you will be paying.

Here are some tips to consider when choosing a florist:

  • tell them ahead of time your budget
  • ask to see photos or actual arrangements of the florist's work
  • find out how long they have been in business
  • talk to past customers and find out their satisfaction rates
  • choose ahead of time what flowers you like and bring pictures if you have them
  • share details of your dress color and bridesmaids dress
  • >talk to each other on a personal level so she can be acquainted with you
  • ask for a sample of the finished product to see if it is what you want
  • put every fee in writing, including labor and materials
  • write down every detail on the contract (delivery location, times, colors, names and numbers of flowers, and substitutions)
These are just a few of the tips to follow when choosing a good florist for you wedding. To cut down prices, you can also choose flowers that are in season at that time. You can even have your florist find a bargain at a flower market. To be even less expensive, go for something simple. You don't always need something intricate and so exotic. Simplicity can be beautiful, and the less they focus on the flowers, the more they will focus on you!
