Sports Fanatics
By Patricia Lee

Choosing a unique theme rather than having a traditional wedding is a wonderful idea for couples. It allows them to incorporate their own ideas into the event and to live out their fantasies and dreams. There are so many different themes to choose from, and it can be a good bonding experience with family and friends for them to help you decide on what kind to have. It is good to create a unique style for your wedding, and here are some ideas on "Sports Fanatics":

If a couple is heavily into sports, create a wedding that highlights your favorite team and sport. Since this is not as formal, you and your guests can be more casual. The atmosphere is more relaxed and very energetic.

  • use athletic equipment to decorate
  • depending on your theme, have your cake made with miniature sports figures or made into the shape of something sports related (basketball, tennis racket, etc.)
  • you can issue guests "admission tickets" to the ceremony
  • for favors, give bags of peanuts or miniature sports equipment
Whatever theme you choose, just remember not to go overboard. Keep the focus on the couple and not on the surroundings. Stay within your budget and spend money only on what is necessary and that you don't already own.
